Just got my Fenix 6 Sapphire today and trying to open spotify is either not working or sometimes even restarting the watch. Spotify was an essential function when i choose this fix. If it won't be fixed during the next days the watch will be returned. Pretty frustrating expirience during the first couple of hours. Really unfortunate. Only way to stop is to uninstall Spotify app and start over. One of the main draws for buying this watch was to have the music during my activities. Now I can't even use it. Between Spotify and Garmin, please please PLEASE fix this issue. I have the most recent update of both Spotify and watch software and it's not going away. spotify worked fine until I tried to sync a new playlist, last time I tried to add a playlist 6+months ago. all music content via spotify. not public wifi, tried 2 different wifi sources, still just get 0% sync followed by sync failed. turned off/on every thing, synced, tried removing spotify and reinstalling all to no joy Garmin is the champion of battery life and sensors at a reasonable price point. I'm not into running and like a watch to look good for day to day wear but in the end I might switch back in a few years since Garmin just performs better and has all the core features one would require, like notifications really. The extra fluff I don't use much.

I'm having trouble getting the music controls to work on my Forerunner 645M in Spotify. My tracks are downloaded, but when I pull up the music controls and hit play or skip, there's no response. The "menu" button (three dots) in the music controls works, but the music won't start. Garmin Smartwatch Fitness tracker Fitness Fitness and Nutrition.
However, after I log into my Spotify Premium account on my phone (Google Pixel 7), and click the agree button, the Garmin connect app just hangs and so does my watch. My watch would remain in the screen prompting me to log into Spotify with Garmin Connect. However, when I logged into Spotify, Garmin Connect IQ store is listed as 1 of the apps I Am Having Issues with Spotify on My Garmin Watch | fēnix® 7X Pro – Sapphire Solar Edition | Garmin Customer Support. I have that issue too when running. It's fine just playing music but once I track the run the sound starts skipping. Then as I get further from home I find the skipping stops. My theory is it's the extra load of Wifi - the watch it looking to synch or looking at what wifi points are available. I'll have to try disabling Wifi and see if that helps.
What is not normal is getting any higher drain outside of this when compared to playing any other music source on the Fenix 5+. My typical observation is that a 1 hour and 15 minutes of an indoor Strength Training activity without music consumes about 4-5% battery and with music (in my case Spotify) this goes up to 12-14%.
