Paris, 10M of people, 105 km², is reduced to ~7 streets. I seriously doubt any of it is remotely close to its real life counterpart, it's a pity because if the detail was put into it ETS2 would be insane - but the effort required would also be insane. Not true to life but some roads are still pretty close. They aren't completely true to life. It would be impossible for that to happen. I recommend that you try the demo, which is the full game, but with a time limit for play. Maps, roads, topography I believe is called "prototypical". It's not strictly accurate as jcd points out, but the looks and feel is about right.

The only way you might be able to do it is to go into the load game menu and click the button at the bottom to show autosaves - the game automatically saves data occasionally, so you might be able to load in a save from a time before you took the job.
